How to do...
Sand the untreated wood finely (grit 100 – 120) before application. When you apply the product, the floor should be free from dirt and completely dry. Therefore, clean the floor if necessary with an intensive cleaner and water (mixing ratio 1:40). An wood-moisture of max. 12 % is recommended. The temperature of floor and room should be between 15 an 30°C. During the application of the hardwax oil and the drying time, a good ventilation should be ensured.
1. Shake the container well before and during the application. To avoid differences in the color, mix containers with different batch numbers.
2. Use a short-haired roller or something similar to apply the hardwax oil in a thin layer. Allow the oil to absorb for about 20 minutes.
3. Polish the wood's surface with a polishing pad oder a polishing machine as long until there's no excess oil left and the floor's surface gets an saturated appearance.
4. Leave the floor to dry for about 8 – 10 hours. Repeat the application process on those parts of the floor which don't have a saturated appearance yet.
5. After the application, clean the tools with an oil solvent.
6. The treated floor can be used carefully the next day. The wood's surface is fully hardened after three days. Do not clean the floor during these three days. Afterwards, you can clean the wood's surface with an oil refresher or an appropriate wood floor soap. Your can re-oil the floor's surface with an Maintenance Paste oder the Hardwax Oil if necessary.
Please notice:
Do not breathe in or swallow. Avoid eye and skin contact. Keep empty containers and used cloths and pads in a fire-proof container.
