How to do...
1. The surface must be clean and dry. Use the intensive cleaner for a particularly thorough cleaning.
2. Sand the surface carefully. If it is a new surface, use sandpaper with a grit of 100. If an old surface has to be treated, which has old paint layers and similar, it is recommended to sand the surface down to the bare wood. Use fine sandpaper (grit 100) afterwards Remove the sanding dust with a vacuum cleaner before applying the Floor Paint.
3. Stir the paint before and and during the application thoroughly. In order to avoid differences in color and gloss, containers with different batch numbers should be mixed together.
4. Apply the Floor Paint evenly. Use a brush or a short-haired paint roller. Work longitudinally along the individual boards. It is recommended that the first coat of paint serves as a primer and is therefore diluted with up to 20% water.
5. Allow the paint to dry for 4 to 6 hours. The temperature should be at about 20°C.
6. Sand the painted floor after drying. Use sandpaper with a grit of 220 – 240 or a bordeaux-colored pad. Clean the floor with a vacuum cleaner afterwards.
7. Apply a second coat of paint and let the floor dry again. If the surface is heavily used or used commercially, sand the floor once again and apply a third layer of paint.
8. Within 24 hours after the last application the color is hardened. At a constant temperature of 20°C, it' fully hardened after 5 to 7 days. Use a lacquer soap to clean the floor regularly. Additionaly, a lacquer care can be used to refresh the brilliance of the surface. Stubborn spots can be removed with a spot remover.
